Brittany Desborough is 38, has four children and a grandson.
People still think she and her 20-year-old daughter Makenzie are twins.
“Some people even thought Makenzie was my mum,” the California-based mother told CreatorZine.
“It was really tricky to tell. Luckily, she always found it hilarious. And I found it incredibly flattering.”
The internet has since dubbed her the “world’s hottest gran.” She does not appear to mind.
Pregnant at 17, grandmother at 38

Desborough met her husband Chris, now 39, at a school party. They got engaged eight months in.
A few months after that, the nausea started. She was 17 and pregnant.
“I was so confused how it happened,” she said. “I knew Chris wanted to have kids right away, but we were both so young.”
Growing up Catholic, ending the pregnancy was not something she considered. She worried it would ruin her life.
“Life as a young mum wasn’t always easy. While most of my friends were partying and applying for university, I had no choice but to grow up.”

The couple went on to have Savannah, now 11, Charlie, nine, and in 2024, their fourth child, Hunter.
A few months after Hunter arrived, Desborough found Makenzie curled up in bed staring at a wall. She knew immediately.
“It was like deja vu. All I felt was sympathy.”
A grandson and a son less than a year apart
Makenzie’s baby, Banks, arrived close enough to Hunter that uncle and nephew are practically the same age.

The family is building an annex for Makenzie and Banks while they work out the logistics of a household that now spans three generations and was not expecting to do so quite this soon.
“It was strange having a grandson and a son less than a year apart,” Desborough said. “But I wouldn’t change it for anything. Hunter loves his nephew very much.”
The skincare routine behind the ‘hot mum’ reputation

Parents at Makenzie’s school had already nicknamed Desborough the “hot mum” long before the grandmother title arrived.
Her daily routine includes cleanser, glycolic acid, niacinamide and zinc, gel moisturiser, squalene oil, Vaseline and crow’s feet tape.
It is detailed enough to suggest she takes the maintenance seriously and effective enough that strangers cannot tell which of the two women is the mother.
“People are even more surprised now when I tell them I’m a grandma,” she said.
“But it goes to show: us grannies come in all shapes, sizes and good looks.”
Why it matters

Young grandmother content has a reliable viral formula: show two women who look the same age, reveal that one is the other’s mother, then reveal that the older one is already a grandmother.
The double reveal drives shares because it confounds expectations about what a grandmother is supposed to look like.
Desborough’s version works because the story behind it is genuine and slightly chaotic: a teen pregnancy, a Catholic upbringing, a marriage that stuck, and then history repeating itself a generation later.
The “world’s hottest gran” headline will travel on its own, but the family building an annex to house a daughter and grandson they were not planning for is the detail that gives the story weight beyond the photo.
