Eila Adams jumped out of a plane in 2016 with no clothes on and a hangover she describes as violent.
It wasn’t the most frightening thing she has done naked.
Not even close.
The 38-year-old from Toronto, Canada, has presented Naked News since 2009, and by her own account there isn’t much left she hasn’t tried in the buff.

Freezing, hungover and jumping anyway

The skydive came straight after a weekend in Chicago celebrating the show’s 15th anniversary.
The party ran all weekend. The jump was on the Monday.
“I went skydiving naked in 2016 and I was freezing,” Eila said.
“I did it in the summer but when you’re so high in the air it’s still really cold, especially with no clothes on.
“I was cold, violently hungover and about to jump out of a plane naked – but there was no way I was cancelling a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

Adrenaline did the rest. “I don’t think I was really paying attention to much going on,” she said.
“I was definitely feeling the effects of the weekend, but once I was there, I knew I had to go through with it.”
The stage that scared her more than the sky
Eila has done topless stand-up twice in Toronto, once at Yuk Yuk’s and once at Comedy Bar, both for Naked News.

She later performed completely naked at a nudist resort in Palm Springs, alongside two naked male comedians.
She rates it above the skydive for sheer terror.
“I genuinely think getting on stage and doing stand-up was even scarier than skydiving,” she said.
“At least when you jump out of a plane, you don’t have an audience waiting to see if you’re funny.

“You’d think after 16 years of getting naked on camera I wouldn’t get nervous anymore, but apparently all it takes is a microphone and an audience.”
Camels, football and a mechanical bull
Her list of nude achievements also includes mechanical bull riding and a four-a-side football match between naked women on a nude beach in Toronto.
For 16 years she has also fronted Flex Appeal, a Naked News segment in which she works out nude.

The camel came during a travel segment filmed at a swingers’ club in Lanzarote.
“They walk with a kind of waddle, so you’re moving from side to side,” she said. “They were cute – but they stink.
“There was a seat, so I wasn’t barebacking it, but I didn’t have any clothes on.”
Her summary of the whole career is admirably blunt: “Pretty much anything that you’ve done clothed, I’ve probably done it naked.”
Mum, Europe and the people who stare

Eila puts Europe well ahead of North America on attitudes to nudity.
She has been invited to dance naked on stage in ordinary nightclubs there, with staff barely blinking.
“It’s a different mindset, one I personally love,” she said.
In 2011 she co-presented the show with her mum, Robin, then 47.
“She said she was proud and not surprised since I hated wearing clothes when I was a kid,” Eila said.

These days she films a segment called Naked in the Streets, presenting topless in public. Crowds gather. Phones come out.
“When I first started, I found that embarrassing, but now it’s almost like a superpower because it’s so many people’s biggest fear to be naked in a crowd,” she said.
Her interviewees rarely join in. She says it has happened five times in her career, which she calls “a true unicorn moment”, unless she is covering a swingers’ event or nudist retreat, where people are far keener.

Being the only naked person in the room doesn’t bother her.
“No matter your age or body, I think we all look better naked anyway,” she said.
Why It Matters
Eila has spent 16 years turning a single, slightly absurd premise into a recognisable personal brand, long before subscription platforms made nudity a mainstream creator business.
Her output works because the gimmick stays fixed while the setting keeps changing.

That’s a lesson plenty of creators chasing the next trend could stand to learn.
Stunt-based content built on doing the thing most people fear is booming across short-form video, and Eila was doing it before the format had a name.
Top of her bucket list now is a hot air balloon ride at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta in New Mexico.
Whether she’ll be wearing anything at the time remains unconfirmed.
