My Nonna taught me how a man should treat a woman – I’d rather stay SINGLE than settle

CeCe Rose has 2M followers, a Dubai prince proposal and no interest in situationships. The ‘world’s perfect girlfriend’ on why her Nonna set the bar high.

A stranger’s parents once offered to fly CeCe Rose across the world to meet their son.

They mentioned an allowance. She said no before anyone got round to naming a figure.

Her Nonna’s influence, more or less.

The 26-year-old model, known to more than 2M Instagram followers as the “world’s perfect girlfriend”, says her Northern Italian upbringing left her with standards most men do not clear.

She would rather stay single than accept what she calls a low-effort romance.

Growing up beside her Nonna

CeCe lives in Toronto. Her mother’s family comes from the north of Italy, near Venice, and that side won.

“My Italian roots come from Northern Italy, by Venice, and growing up side by side with my Nonna definitely instilled Italian traditions, values and culture that have shaped me into who I am,” she said.

“My mum’s side is Italian and my dad’s side is English, but I’ve always gravitated a lot more towards my Italian roots because of the culture and traditions that align with me.

“The importance of loyalty, respect, family and taking pride in the people you love has always stayed with me – as well as making sure nobody is ever hungry if they come to my house!”

She reckons the lesson underneath all of it is simple enough.

“I think Italian culture teaches that relationships should be built on commitment, effort and making your partner feel valued every day. It’s a lot more traditional than what we see in North America.”

Nobody cries on a curb in Venice

Since she started travelling properly in 2023, CeCe has gone back to Italy several times a year.

She has not been actively dating for a while. The trips keep telling her the same thing anyway.

“I go back because it always reminds me of the warmth, family-first mindset and slower pace of life that I enjoy,” she said.

“Spending time there has reinforced in my mind that genuine connection and consistency will always matter more than convenience.

It also reassures me that traditional roles are sometimes better for a relationship in certain circumstances.

“Dating in Italy often seems to be more intentional, with a stronger focus on building something meaningful rather than keeping things casual.

“Let’s put it this way – I haven’t heard an Italian say ‘my situationship’ while crying on a curb.”

Princes, allowances and ‘wifey material’

The offers have been unusual. Early in her online career, CeCe says a wealthy family got in touch asking whether they could fly her out to meet their son, and allegedly floated an allowance.

She turned it down. On another occasion she says a Dubai prince asked her to marry him, become royalty and retire, as reported by Creatorzine.

Followers regularly tell her she is “wifey material” and that they could picture marrying her.

None of it moved her.

“I wouldn’t say my roots are the reason I would never settle because I think that’s just me as a person,” she said.

“But they’ve reminded me that it’s better to wait for the right relationship with proper effort than accept a mediocre one with low effort.”

Flowers beat Rolexes

Her non-negotiables, in her words: “loyalty, respect, consistency, emotional maturity and putting family before ego.”

She thinks men elsewhere could borrow something from Italian men.

“Italians are generally more expressive, attentive and comfortable showing affection without treating it as a weakness,” she said.

“Making a woman feel appreciated through consistency, respect and thoughtful gestures never goes out of style. Have you ever met a girl who hates flowers? Probably not.”

The luxury approach lands badly with her.

“The biggest mistake men make with women today is trying too hard to appear impressive instead of simply being genuine, dependable and emotionally present,” she said.

“I’d rather you look at me than look at your Rolex. That watch would do nothing for our relationship or help love in any way.”

Casual dating gets a similar verdict.

“People think texting someone back is too much effort – imagine trying to raise a whole family with kids,” she said.

“Sometimes men expect girlfriends to give everything without putting in the same effort themselves.”

And a message for any parents still lining up their sons:

“I’d tell them to raise men who respect women, value family, communicate honestly and understand that love is shown through actions every day.”

Why It Matters

The “perfect girlfriend” framing is a content position as much as a personality, and it works because it is specific.

Creators who attach themselves to a clear value system tend to hold attention longer than creators who post pretty photos and hope.

The risk is the same one that comes with any persona built on romance: the audience eventually expects a plot development.

Traditional-values content has been one of the most reliable engines on Instagram and TikTok for two years now, sitting somewhere between tradwife aesthetics and dating discourse, and it converts because the comments section argues with itself for free.

CeCe is in Europe at the moment and heads to Italy in the coming weeks.

Mr Right is not on the itinerary. Neither, she says, is lowering the bar.
