Jade Vow bought sundresses because Cyprus is hot.
She did not expect them to become the most effective thing in her wardrobe.
The 27-year-old content creator left Somerset for the Mediterranean three years ago and switched to light cotton dresses out of necessity.

The response from men was immediate and, by her account, fairly uncomplicated.
She now has more than 75,000 Instagram followers at @littlepidge and a working theory about why the cute option beats the obvious one, as reported by Creatorzine.
The sundress sweet spot
“In Cyprus, I’m always wearing something a little bit skimpy and these dresses are so cute, and I think that’s what men like about them,” Jade said.
“They’re the right amount of revealing for most men – it’s not what you’d call slutty, but it gives them something to look at.
“I’m not parading around in a tight little bodycon mini dress, but it shows enough leg and skin to catch the eye.”
The tattoos help, she reckons.
“I’ve also got some tattoos that you can see when I’m wearing sundresses and I think the two work well together,” she said.
“The contrast of sweetness and innocence with my tattoos makes it that bit more appealing.”
The tomboy under the dress
The girl-next-door look her followers respond to was never a strategy. It arrived with the weather.
“I switch my style around a lot,” Jade said.
“I dress more tomboy because, for most of my life, I was one.
“As a kid, I’d dress like a boy and literally didn’t own any girls’ clothes.
You would probably look at pictures of me as a kid and think that I was a boy.”
The lingerie shoot that went wrong
Ask her what makes her feel sexy and the answer goes in the opposite direction to the audience.
“I had to film a custom video for a fan wearing sexy black lingerie and stiletto heels, and it made me feel so ugly,” she said.
“I hated it and I just hate wearing heels, partly because I’m clumsy and I can’t walk well in them, but I also just feel dumb.
“I prefer to be completely naked or be wearing something casual like oversized T-shirts and some casual trousers.
I’m a baggy T-shirt, leather jacket, messy hair and chunky boots girl at heart.”
Josh saw it coming
Her boyfriend of eight years, Josh, says the version of Jade she finds most comfortable is the one he was looking for anyway.
“If I didn’t know Jade and you asked me what I find sexiest ten years ago before we met, I would tell you I love a girl in grungy rock-and-roll attire, so she ticks the boxes for me without even trying,” he said.
Why It Matters
Plenty of creators spend money chasing a look they think an audience wants.
Jade’s best-performing one cost her nothing and arrived by accident, which is a quietly awkward lesson for anyone currently budgeting for a wardrobe overhaul.
The gap between what a creator feels good in and what an audience responds to is real, and closing it the wrong way tends to show on camera.
The wider pattern is familiar enough across subscription platforms, where the approachable, slightly undone aesthetic has been outperforming full glamour for a while now.
Cheaper to produce, easier to sustain, harder to fake.
Jade is not retiring the dresses either way.
“I’ve just got lots of sundresses now,” she said.
“They are cute and I like feeling girly and feminine and cute in them.”
