I’m an escort and men are paying me to date them – they say apps have KILLED British romance

Men in their 20s through to their 50s are booking Elizabeth Romanova because they’ve given up on regular dating.

She’s been an escort for over ten years. She has thoughts.

The mum-of-one, in her early 30s and based in Northamptonshire, told creatorzine.com that modern dating has gone “messy,” and that the men she meets are increasingly successful, tired, and finished with the apps.

“It’s very fast and very disposable,” she said.

“People don’t invest in the same way anymore. There are too many options, not enough intention, and a lot less honesty.

Ghosting has basically replaced communication. They’ve lost the plot!”

Swipe, ghost, repeat

Elizabeth doesn’t blame dating apps outright.

She says they’ve cheapened the thing rather than destroyed it.

“Everyone thinks there’s always someone ‘better’ just one swipe away,” she said.

“People are also more guarded now, less willing to be vulnerable and more focused on protecting themselves.”

Most of her clients are older. Established. The kind of men, she says, who still know how to treat a woman properly.

Why they’re paying

It’s not what you might assume. The pitch, from Elizabeth’s side, is the absence of admin.

“There are clear expectations, no games, and no emotional stress,” she said.

“A lot of the men I meet are successful but tired; they don’t want confusion, they want ease, respect, and a guaranteed good experience.”

A guaranteed good experience. That’s the line.

What she tells the rest

For men who’d rather not book a Friday night, Elizabeth has suggestions.

They are not revolutionary. They are, she’d argue, the point.

“Stop trying to impress and start being real,” she said.

“Don’t underestimate how important consistency is. It’s often more attractive than grand gestures.”

She wants men to plan dates properly, communicate clearly, and actually listen.

She thinks “effort, attention, and proper courtship” have become rare enough to count as a flex. The right men, in her view, still get it.

“Modern dating is messy for everyone right now, but the people who stand out are the ones who are clear, calm, and intentional. That’s rare now and very attractive.”

A dating world breaking in two

Elizabeth reckons the whole thing is splitting. One half is casual and empty.

The other half resembles something closer to what dating used to look like.

She also isn’t sold on AI companions filling the gap.

There’s been a wave of men turning to chatbots for emotional support and romantic role-play, and she’s unimpressed.

“AI might fill a gap for some people, but it will never replace real chemistry,” she said.

“That’s what people truly crave.”

Red flags, both ways

She isn’t soft on women either. Asked what men should watch out for, she listed:

“Women who expect everything but don’t give much back. A lack of appreciation, poor communication, or a constant need for validation. Also, when intentions aren’t clear from the start.”

Her final advice was to put the phone down.

“Confidence is attractive, but emotional intelligence is what keeps a woman interested.

Take a break from the apps. Focus on your real life, your energy, your presence, how you carry yourself. You’ll always do better in person than behind a screen.”

Why it matters

The creator economy has spent the last few years rewarding people who turn personal life into content.

Dating coaches, OnlyFans creators, sex workers and lifestyle influencers all sell some version of intimacy at scale.

Elizabeth, who advertises on Vivastreet, sits inside that pattern even if she’d describe her job differently.

The interesting bit isn’t whether she’s right about British men.

It’s that paid companionship is increasingly being sold by its providers as a fix for a broken dating market, rather than a workaround for it.

That framing isn’t going away. Expect more of it.
