A man in full hi-vis walked to the end of a homemade diving board, stepped off a bridge and twisted through the air before dropping into the water below.
The jacket stayed on.
Isaac Trueman-Marsden, 22, from Sheffield, says the whole thing came together on the spot.
Footage shows him strolling to the end of the board with no particular urgency, then launching into a twisting dive that would not look out of place at a pool with a scoreboard.
“It was pretty spontaneous,” he told Creatorzine.
“We just checked the depth and jumped. We made the diving board as well.”
He and his friends built the board themselves. The jump followed.
Why he won’t say where it happened
Isaac is not naming the bridge, and he is clear about the reason.
“I would prefer if you didn’t say the location of the bridge just because I don’t want to influence people to do it because obviously it’s dangerous,” he said.
“The depth also changes all the time at that location and I wouldn’t want anyone jumping when it’s not safe.”
He says he has been diving his “whole life”.
He also says they checked the water before anyone went near the edge.
Two point six million views and one recurring joke
The clip went up on Sunday 6 September and has since passed 2.6million views and more than 82,000 likes.
Most viewers were impressed. A significant number got stuck on the outfit.
“Absolutely beautiful technique,” one wrote.
“Old boy just checking the depth of the water on behalf of the council,” said another.
Then the safety inspectors arrived. “Highly irresponsible… Not wearing a hard hat,” one posted.
Another added: “Very dangerous to not have gloves on.”
Why It Matters
The dive is good. The hi-vis is what made it travel.
A clean twisting entry off a bridge is a strong clip on its own, but the vest turns it into a running joke that thousands of people can extend in the comments, and comments are distribution.
Creators working in stunt-adjacent territory tend to learn the second lesson late: what you leave out matters as much as what you film.
Isaac withholding the location costs him nothing in views and removes the worst version of what happens next.
Plenty of larger accounts still hand over the map.
British virality this year has run heavily on ordinary people doing technically impressive things while dressed for a shift, and the gap between the skill and the outfit is usually the whole joke. Isaac happens to have both.
He has not said whether a second dive is coming.
The board, presumably, is still where they left it.
