Jade Vow’s subscribers keep asking her to prove she exists.
Not her content. Her.
The 27-year-old earns six figures on OnlyFans, and says fans have grown so used to chatting with agency staff posing as creators that a genuine reply now reads as suspicious.

“I’ve had so many guys subscribe and be sceptical that it’s really me,” says Jade, who posts as @littlepidge to 69,400 Instagram followers.
“I’ve had to prove I’m being genuine by sending a voice note.
“They’re always shocked and say that I’m one of the only accounts that they’ve subscribed to that isn’t using a chatter, a bot or an agency.”
The man behind the screen
Agencies manage creators’ accounts, replying to messages on their behalf and handling content and marketing in exchange for fees Jade describes as hefty.
Some charge one-off sums, some bill monthly, others take a slice of everything.
“I’ve seen some take up to 50% and that’s before OnlyFans take their 20% cut,” she says.
“I know one creator who pays an agency $50,000 a month. The whole thing gives the industry a bad reputation.”
And the person doing the flirting, she says, usually isn’t the woman in the photos.
“It’s usually a man behind the screen who is hard-selling or flat-out scamming.
“They will sell a video that’s 10 seconds long for a hundred dollars, but tell the fans that it’s something completely different.
They’ll say ‘here I am getting railed by 10 guys’, but when the fan opens it, it’s just a few nudes.
“It’s literally a scam and a lot of these girls don’t even know that is what’s happening on their account.”
‘It’s why OnlyFans were going to pull out of porn’
The damage doesn’t stop at one bad review. Duped fans claw their money back through their card providers, and Jade says a pattern of complaints can cost a creator her account entirely.
“Customers are charging back to get the money refunded from OnlyFans, which comes from Visa and MasterCard,” she says.
“That’s one reason why MasterCard and Visa are putting so much pressure and rules and restrictions on the industry.
It’s why OnlyFans were going to pull out of porn a few years ago. I’m not just being petty – it’s a big problem.”
She has history on this one. OnlyFans announced a ban on sexually explicit content in 2021, a decision widely linked to pressure from banking partners, before reversing it within days.
Speaking out has made Jade unpopular with creators who use agencies.
“I rant on X and creators snap back at me, but I don’t care, this affects us all.”
‘I can’t blame girls for doing it’
Jade, who moved from Taunton in Somerset to Cyprus three years ago, isn’t calling for agencies to be abolished.
The workload behind a successful page is real, and she knows it.
She has earned up to £6,000 in a single month just from rating male subscribers’ bodies.
“You do have to spend hours a day replying to messages, so I understand why you would choose to get one,” she says.
“What I hate is when they don’t disclose that they’re using one, because that’s just lying to your fans.”
Some, she says, do honest work. “Some good ones just handle editing and scheduling your content, or there are a few female-led ones which are good for social media promotions.”
Others attract a different kind of contempt. “I know of a few quite big agencies that are run by men who are obviously profiting off women, but they are incredibly misogynistic and sexist, it irritates me.
“People like Andrew Tate, for example, go on podcasts and do interviews bashing women that do OnlyFans, but that’s how he makes his money.
Imagine that being the case and then blasting women, saying they should only sleep with one man in their life – the irony.”
‘They’re preying on them’
Josh, Jade’s partner of eight years and a fellow adult creator, believes young women are the easiest targets.
“If you’re 23 and working a hard 9-to-5 in a coffee shop and some agency says they’ll pay you crazy money for some photos, it’s hard to say no, and they know no better,” he says.
“They’re preying on them and taking half their income. It’s easy to sell.”
His objection isn’t complicated. “Morally, I don’t agree with it either.
I would have an issue with some random shop down the road if they were lying to people, too. Just because it’s porn, doesn’t mean it needs to be seedy.”
Meanwhile the customers are walking.
“I’ve had a fair few subscribers message me on OnlyFans and say I’m so sorry, your page is amazing, but I’ve been scammed so many times now from other girls,” Jade says.
“They say they’re fed up and they’re deleting their account.”
Her message to the agencies is blunt. “Please do things morally, and stop scamming people. I know people take it less seriously because ‘it’s just porn’ but that’s still people’s hard-earned money.
“People tend not to respect men that buy porn but it’s their money – they’re choosing how to spend it.
These are just normal, everyday dudes. There’s nothing wrong with them.
They’re customers so they deserve respect and they deserve not to be scammed.”
Why It Matters
Chatting is the invisible labour of the subscription economy.
Fans aren’t really paying for photos, which the internet gives away for free.
They’re paying for the feeling that a specific person is on the other end of the conversation.
Outsource that to a hired man working on commission and you’re not cutting corners, you’re selling a counterfeit of the only thing the product actually is.
And the bill lands collectively: chargebacks flow to Visa and Mastercard, who respond with restrictions on every adult creator, including the ones typing their own replies.
The creators doing it properly end up paying for the ones who aren’t.
Jade’s complaint arrives amid wider scrutiny of the “chatter” industry, with investigations documenting outsourced messaging operations where workers, frequently overseas and frequently male, impersonate creators for a few dollars an hour.
OnlyFans has so far said little about who is allowed to do the typing.
Until that changes, a voice note remains the closest thing the platform has to proof of life.
