Yaritza Ortiz stepped into the road to film a video. A motorbike got there first.
The influencer, who has more than 65,000 followers, was struck on the seafront in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, in late July.
Footage of the moment shows her moving into the road mid-shoot as a young motorcyclist approaches at speed, allegedly unable to stop before crashing into her.

She later shared images of the injuries to her face, alongside a video that has picked up 125,000 likes.
“Today I experienced something I never imagined,” she said.
“A young man was speeding along the avenue and hit me. In an instant, I understood that life can change completely.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re in a hurry, if you know the way, or if you think you’re in control.
Speeding can destroy families, dreams, and lives. Driving isn’t a race.
Your family is waiting for you at home, and so are other people’s.”
‘Many people do not have that opportunity’
Yaritza has since confirmed she is stable and out of danger, though one of her eyes was particularly affected, as reported by CreatorZine.
“Thanks to God today I can write these words, but many people do not have that opportunity,” she added.
She is now urging drivers and pedestrians alike to take more care.
Which, given the footage, might be a message both parties needed.
The rider tells a different story
The motorcyclist has spoken publicly too, and he is not accepting the blame wholesale.
He says the video shows Yaritza suddenly stepping into the path of traffic, and points out that he came off badly himself, suffering a facial bone fracture that required surgery.
He has rejected the suggestion that full responsibility rests with him.
So far, neither police nor traffic authorities have issued any official statement.
Why It Matters
Filming in public is the default mode of creator work now, and the seafront walk-and-talk is one of its most reliable formats.
Nobody risk-assesses it.
Yaritza’s crash, and the fact that the crash itself became her biggest post of the summer, says plenty about how the creator economy absorbs everything that happens to the people inside it. Injuries included.
Locally, the incident has reignited debate about road safety along busy waterfront strips where creators and traffic share space neither is keen to surrender.
Whether the authorities eventually weigh in remains open.
Yaritza, meanwhile, is recovering, and posting through it.
The camera never really went off.
