Alex Venegas walked out of hospital after a reported overdose and straight into handcuffs.
Police arrested the 24-year-old, better known as Flyysoulja and one half of viral rap duo the Island Boys, on a petty theft charge the same day doctors discharged him, as reported by Creatorzine.

Venegas reportedly ended up in hospital on 29 October after overdosing on a mix of cocaine, benzodiazepines and Percocet.

By 2 November he was in Broward County Main Jail, Florida.
He reportedly posted bond but stayed behind bars until the following morning anyway.
Vaseline, a razor and a black BMW
The charge relates to an incident police say happened back on 20 March at a Walgreens on Hallandale Beach Boulevard.
According to the arrest report, CCTV footage allegedly shows the Fort Lauderdale rapper walking into the shop, taking several items from the shelves and stuffing them down his trousers.

He allegedly glanced around to make sure staff weren’t watching, then left and drove off in a black 2021 BMW.
The haul, according to the store manager, came to $75.45 (£55.97).
It included Aquaphor ointment, therapy cream, a disposable razor, Vaseline and lotion.
Not exactly a heist.
Fame did him no favours either. A witness who recognised him from the Island Boys picked him out from a photo, and the Hallandale Beach Police Department issued a warrant for his arrest.
A family affair

Venegas isn’t the first Island Boy to land in trouble with the law.
His twin brother Frank Venegas, who performs as Kodiyakredd, faced a string of charges after a traffic stop in February last year.
They included reckless driving, giving false identification to a police officer and driving without a valid licence.
Why it matters

Editorial view: The Island Boys built their entire career on being instantly recognisable, and that same visibility now works against them.
For creators whose brand depends on chaos and shock value, the line between content and consequence gets thinner with every headline.
Viral fame, five years on
The twins exploded in 2021 when “I’m an Island Boy” racked up more than 25 million views on YouTube, part of a wave of meme-driven overnight stars who found fame long before they found any kind of plan for it.
What happens next

No court date has been reported yet.
For a duo who made a living out of being impossible to ignore, the next few weeks could get very loud.
Or very quiet.
