The clip opens on a woman screaming a cat’s name while still moving through traffic on a motorbike.

Pıttık was already gone.

Rümeysa İdin, 25, was riding along a busy highway in Istanbul, Türkiye, on 13 August when the cat worked her way out of the backpack İdin was wearing.

İdin stopped, got off and went into moving traffic on foot, still shouting, as reported by Creatorzine.

Inches from a lorry

A lorry passed within inches of the cat, according to the report.

Pıttık came out of it unhurt and İdin got her back.

The video went online on 19 August, where roughly 170,000 people watched a stranger’s worst few minutes and formed a view about it.

The comments got there fast

Some went straight for İdin. “Next time the cat should not be on motorcycle!!! This is outrageous,” one wrote.

Another was more specific about the equipment.

“Her fault. If she wants to carry a cat, put it in a pet backpack not just any backpack.”

Others sided with the cat, in the way the internet usually does.

One treated the escape as a personality trait rather than an accident:

“It’s just a cat, showed no remorse and promises to do it again… c’mon, it’s an orange cat.”

A fourth viewer arrived via the idiom and then thought better of it.

“Who let the cat out of the bag? Not entirely funny with that idiom tho, she must have been super scared.”

One did the arithmetic: “No worries, kitty has eight lives left.”

Why it matters

Animal peril travels further than almost anything else online, and it arrives with a jury attached.

A clip like this performs because the middle is unbearable and the end is not.

What the poster gets in exchange for that reach is a comment section of people ranking her decisions, most of whom watched fifteen seconds of the worst day of her month.

Creators who film their own emergencies lose control of the frame the moment it lands.

The footage stops being a memory and becomes evidence, and the audience appoints itself.

A city that takes cats personally

Istanbul is not a neutral venue for this. Its street cats are close to civic infrastructure, fed and named by people who have never owned one, which is part of why a clip of a cat in traffic there moves the way it did.

İdin has not said publicly whether Pıttık will be riding again.

The comments have already decided she will.
