My nan drove me to my first Playboy shoot at 18 and tried my stripper pole – now she’s my BIGGEST fan

Jessica Barton’s nan collected every magazine she appeared in, tried the pole at her strip club, and still cheers her on. She’s 42 and earning six figures on OnlyFans.

When Jessica Barton’s nan came to visit her at work, she didn’t just wave from the door. She got on the pole.

“I was just thinking, please don’t break a hip,” Jessica said.

Jessica, 42, has spent two decades in front of cameras and on club floors – Playboy shoots, bartending shifts, modelling castings, stripping in Orlando.

Through all of it, her nan has been front row. Not reluctantly. Enthusiastically.

“My nan and my mum would come visit me at work,” she said.

“My sister was a waitress there too, so it kind of became a family thing.”

The club itself, she’s quick to point out, wasn’t what people picture.

“It was in Orlando, which is basically Mickey Mouse town. The clubs are actually really tame – pasties and a thong, no touching, no grinding. It was more about entertaining, drinking with people and making it a fun atmosphere.”

Jessica was, by her own admission, not exactly a pole virtuoso.

“I’m honestly a terrible dancer. I’d just get up there, do a spin, collect the money and go back to chatting. I made more money just being social and having fun.”

Her nan, it turns out, had always been like this.

She dyed teenage Jessica’s hair pink and purple during her goth phase without blinking.

She also, eventually, grew tired of the black lip liner.

“She got sick of my black outlined lips and purple lipstick,” Jessica said.

“So I said, ‘well take me to get my lips done then’ – and she did. That’s kind of where everything started.”

Playboy, five auditions, and a dream that almost landed

At 18, her nan drove her to her first Playboy shoot and waited.

She then went home and started collecting the magazines – Playboy, Maxim, everything Jessica appeared in. She still has them.

Jessica auditioned for Playmate five times. Never got it.

“It was a lifelong dream,” she said.

“But the competition back then was insane – every girl was a blonde bombshell. I was always close, but never quite there.”

What followed was years of grinding double shifts – modelling by day, bartending by night, sleeping a few hours, doing it again.

Some months she couldn’t make rent.

$25,000 in her first month

She joined OnlyFans just before the pandemic, expecting almost nothing.

“I thought, no one wants to see my basic photos,” she said. Her first month made her $25,000. She couldn’t believe it.

She now has more than 560,000 followers and has earned up to $10,000 in a single live session.

The sessions can run nine hours straight.

“A lot of people think it’s fast, easy money – it’s not,” she said.

“It’s a full-time job. You have to constantly create content and keep people engaged.”

At 42, she says she feels better about herself than she did twenty years ago.

“I’ve realised men love all different types of women. There’s literally a type of girl for every guy.”

She describes herself, without any apparent irony, as a cougar.

She seems pleased about it.

Why it matters

Jessica’s story cuts against two narratives at once: the idea that adult content careers are built on shame and secrecy, and the idea that they have a natural expiry date.

She is older than most of her peers in this space, more successful than she’s ever been, and backed by a grandmother who collected her Playboy issues and got on a stripper pole in Orlando.

The family support angle isn’t a detail – it’s the whole thing. Confidence, she’s saying, has to come from somewhere.

Hers came from a nan who never flinched.

For creators in the adult space who navigate family disapproval as a baseline condition, that’s not a small thing to put on the record.

What’s next

Jessica shows no sign of slowing down and even less sign of caring what anyone thinks about that.

Her nan is still her biggest fan. At this point, that’s probably enough.
