Noel Edmonds has pulled off the reunion nobody saw coming.

The veteran presenter took Mr Blobby out on a boat off the Isle of Man, and the footage suggests three decades apart have changed precisely nothing.

A video filmed off the island’s coast, reported by CreatorZine, shows Edmonds delivering deadpan maritime advice while Blobby causes his usual brand of havoc in the background.

The pink and yellow menace made his name doing exactly that alongside Edmonds on Noel’s House Party, the BBC juggernaut that owned Saturday nights through the 1990s.

Edmonds plays it completely straight.

“I’ve got a recommendation,” he tells the camera.

“These are dangerous waters around the Isle of Man, some of the world’s most experienced mariners operate here.”

Then comes the safety briefing.

“You’re safe with them, nothing can go wrong, but do use a reputable company, with a captain you feel you can trust.”

Blobby, presumably, did not sign a waiver.

A very busy retirement

Fans loved it. The clip drew a warm response online, with many welcoming the return of one of British television’s most memorable double acts, filmed against a coastline dramatic enough to deserve its own credit.

Edmonds now splits his time between the Isle of Man and New Zealand, and the island is getting the full Noel experience.

He recently joined a world record attempt for the largest ever Pilates class held there, and has launched an exclusive Isle of Man wine collection celebrating his ties to the place.

Not everything has landed.

The former Deal or No Deal host drew criticism this week after buying two lobsters from a shop and releasing them into the sea, a gesture some commentators claimed had condemned the animals to a quick death rather than saved them.

Why It Matters

Edmonds is running a creator playbook without ever calling it one.

Viral clips, stunt content, a personal brand extension in the wine line, and a beloved piece of 90s character IP dusted off for the algorithm.

Legacy broadcasters keep discovering what full-time creators already know: nostalgia is one of the most reliable engagement engines on the internet, and a character audiences grew up with will outperform almost any new format.

The clip arrives amid a wider surge in nostalgia-led content, with 90s and 00s television moments finding a second life across short-form platforms and driving some of the strongest organic reach on them.

Whether Blobby becomes a regular fixture in Edmonds’ island output or stays a one-off cameo, the appetite is clearly there.

The boat survived. That barely counts as a spoiler.
