Holly Wood nearly walked past it. She didn’t.
The Manchester-based thrifter picked up a Ted Baker broderie anglaise midi dress from a local charity shop for £9 – the same style is currently listed on resale sites for $438, roughly £324.
“I can’t believe I found this dress and it doesn’t look like it’s ever been worn,” says Holly, 39.
“And when I Googled it, it’s still selling for around £400.”
The find

The dress – Ted Baker’s Telily Printed Lace Midi design – stopped Holly in her tracks on the rail. Layered, embroidered flowers, fully lined, in a blue, black and red colourway.
“I was so drawn to the colours,” she says.
“I was praying it would fit and it does. Look how stunning it is. It is so beautifully made. £9. I can’t believe it.”
She shared the find with her 33,000 TikTok followers as part of a charity shop haul video that has pulled in over 6,000 views.
The comments section filled up fast.
“Ted Baker dress keep,” wrote one follower, cutting straight to it.

Others called the haul “fab” and said they’d been waiting for the video for weeks.
Not her first score
Holly, who also works as a psychology coach, has form for this.
She recently found a Maje dress worth close to £400 on a charity shop rail and paid £5 for it.
Before that, a £10 bag turned out to be Kate Spade – worth over £300.
Charity shops and Vinted hauls are a regular fixture on her TikTok, where she documents finds that most people would walk straight past.
Why it matters

Holly is part of a growing wave of creators building audiences around secondhand fashion – and doing it by making the find feel like an event.
The thrift haul format works because the gap between what something cost and what it’s worth creates a reaction every time, whether that’s disbelief, envy, or the sudden urge to check your local Oxfam.
With resale platforms growing and fast fashion facing increasing scrutiny, secondhand content is pulling in audiences well beyond dedicated vintage communities.
The numbers are following.
Watch for Holly’s next haul. At this rate, it’s probably already filmed.
